Subject: Request for records - Information Security Plan
Dear Mr. Locatis,
We wish to inspect the Colorado Department of State’s Information Security Plan, and ask that you set a time when we may conduct this inspection.
As we understand the statutes, the plan is to have been approved by September 15, 2007.
24-37.5-404. Public agencies - information security plans.
(4) In the event that a public agency fails to submit to the chief information security officer an information security plan on or before July 15, 2007, or such plan is disapproved by the chief information security officer, the officer shall notify the governor and the head and chief information officer of the public agency of noncompliance with this section. If no plan has been approved by September 15, 2007, the officer shall be authorized to temporarily discontinue or suspend the operation of a public agency's communication and information resources until such plan has been submitted to or is approved by the officer.
According to the statutes, we expect to inspect this plan without delay.
24-72-203. Public records open to inspection.
(3)(c) In no event can extenuating circumstances apply to a request that relates to a single, specifically identified document.
We hope that you will arrange the inspection for today or tomorrow.
Thank you for your prompt attention.
