Re: Briefing by Secretary of State on the results of his electronic voting machined certification process
The Secretary of State is announcing the results of his electronic voting machine certification process at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, December17th. House Assistant Minority Leader, David Balmer and I will convene a meeting the next day, December 18th in Senate Committee Room 356 at 9:00 AM to hear a presentation from the Secretary of State concerning the results of this process.
All members of the General Assembly and every County Clerk are invited to this meeting. We will conduct it as we conduct committee meetings and legislators and clerks will be allowed to ask questions of the Secretary of State or his staff after they have made their presentation.
I know that there has been a lot of concern because no one knows whether the machines in their county will be certified or not. This meeting will be the first step towards legislation to deal with the results of the certification process, if legislation is necessary.
